Holes

‘Holes’ is a story about a boy called Stanley Yelnats who went to Camp Greenlake, which is a dentension Centre for criminal kids. At Camp Greenlake they have to dig a hole five feet wide and five feet deep, everyday as a punishment. Stanley was at Camp Greenlake for a crime he did not commit, so he blames everything which is wrong on his dirty, rotten pig stealing great, great grandfather.

The main characters in this story are Stanley Yelnats the 3rd, the Warden, Kate Barlow and Zero. Stanley, in this story is cursed. I believe there is no such thing as curses. Also in this story they say that onions can cure everything and in my opinion that is not true either. My favourite character is Zero, who is Stanley’s best friend at Camp Greenlake. I like Zero because he is really cute and works really hard at digging his holes and he never gives up.

I can relate to Stanley in this story from when the boys at Camp Greenlake said mean stuff about him. I have felt homesick like Stanley when he was at Camp Greenlake, without his parents.

I loved ‘Holes’ because it had flashbacks and I’ve never had a interesting book like that before. It was probably the best book I have ever read.
