When you think of cricket what do you think about? Fair, honest, the gentlemens game? Recently people have been accused of match fixing in cricket. Match fixing is illegal and people are wondering if the players should be banned for life if they participate in this act. In this story we will look at two points of views and then you can choose your side.
Firstly match fixing is extremely unsportsmanlike. Cricket used to have a good reputation, in fact if something was considered cheating people would say “its just not cricket”. Match fixing is illegal and unfair. Banning people so they can never play cricket would discourage more match fixing. Also it was their choice and they should face the consequences.
However if people got banned from playing cricket then in some places there would be no teams for cricket. In some countries cricket is like a religion and these countries would be outraged. Also everyone deserves a second chance to better themselves. Cricket might be the only thing they can do and if they were banned their families would suffer.
Therefor I believe a ban should be made but for one or two years so if they have families they can still support them and if they do it a second time than the get banned for life.
Firstly match fixing is extremely
the green school was amazing there was celebrities names on bamboo, an music with strings inside, egg chair, the bridge, sustainable toilets, a bubble classroom, a gymnasium mostly made from bamboo, outdoor classrooms, rice fields, a vegetable patch, a playground, a lake, and even a canteen.
Today I shall not bore you all with the adventures of breakfast but I will go on to what happened in the day. First we went to the beach and when we went back I had bathers full of sand( mostly shell). Then we went shopping and we bought mum a prezzy ( cannot reveal anything) we also got me black high top converse and a blue dress (very weird combination) then we went to the resort where I swam( I’m doing alot of that). It was a great day!!!!
Today I ate the same breakfast as yesterday -2 danishes +2 croissants(wonder why I’m eating so much). Grandma and I went shopping and we bought me a new dress(its red). Then we went swimming( by now you might be wondering who we is, its my cousins Jake, Bree and Jemma and I) and we got kicked out because there was a rip. So we went back to the resort and into the lap pool( it tasted like lemons). After that we went to dinner( i got to wear my dress) and i ate satays. and that was all that happened.
Today I ate a big breakfast which I had an egg on toast, 5 danishes,1 pineapple slice, 3 pieces of watermelon(2 yellow?), 2 bowels of cereal and 2 cups of gorange juice(orange+guava). After breakfast we went to waterbom park. I was going to go on the climax but I chickened out cause 2 people got stuck. It was great. After I went to the pool( overly chlorinated) and tried teaching 2 kids how to dive, then we went to dinner where people tried to sell you stuff. In total our crowd bought 1 flaming wallet(party trick), 6 super spinning tops( very shiny) and 1 colorful fan thing. I got a spastic super top( look above). After all it was a great day
Have you ever loved a comic but knew it would be better if you read a book? The solution to your problem is the graphic novel. These great books are just becoming popular and include an assortment of pictures and words.
In World War Two Graphic Novels were Popular giving little bits of colour and life to the battle field. The were also popular with children whose parents couldnt afford a television in this terrible time.
Graphic novels are great reading material for all ages including a wide variety of subjects and content. In the past many people thought them to be unintelligent but now many are changing their views. Some are finding it is encouraging their children to read because of the bright colours and short paragraghs of words. It is a lot like a comic while still being similar to a book and are starting to become more popular in librarys and book shops, while in the past they were only sold at newsagenies. Some schools are even including them in their school activities.
So the next time you know you should read a book but would like to read a comic, try a graphic novel. What do you know you may find you enjoy them.
Boy Overboard was set in Afghanistan and talked about the troubles Jamal, Bibi, Rashida and Omarfaced during their journey to Australia. These four children left Afghanistan to escape the Taliban and the dangers of their country. They suffered many hardships and gained lots of life experience.
This book makes me want to help these kids lives and stop the horrible things such as bombing, the harsh rule of the Taliban and people smugglers from abadoning their ships and leaving people to die. Ithought this book was interesting . It was very meaningful and it made me understand the hardships these people can face. I was inspired by how optimistic these kids were and how the would go to extreme lengths to help family. My favourite part was when Bibi and Jmal were playing soccer and just having fun, it reminds me of when things can be so nice even when times are tough.
In conclusion I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who would like to become more globally aware. Boy Overboard was very well written and again a great book.
