PAKISTAN CRICKETERS CAUGHT MATCH FIXING

Published by under 6D,LukeG

Recently there has been an eruption in the cricket world.  With Pakistan crickets found match fixing in the tests against Australia and England.  There has been 4 crickets under suspicion the captain Salman Butt, bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amer and wicket keeper Kamrah Akmal.

There has been lots speculation on weather the Pakistan Cricket Team should be banned. Why because recently they have been match fixing.  People say it’s cheating when you match fix because they are changing the result of the game.   Also it’s not sportsmanlike i thought cricket was a fair game but i guess the cricket world has changed.

On the other hand all people deserve a 2nd chance before getting the boot and never playing cricket again.  Also the Pakistan fans wont like it and it cause eruption in the city.  For example riots, fights and even protests.  Also Pakistan fans wont be happy because they wont have a team. The cricketer’s might have done it for the money because they might not be getting enough money for there families.

In my opinion I think they should bey banned because it is not cricket and it’s not how people play cricket.  And it is cheating and if they didn’t cheat they could be a really good team.salman_butt_narrowweb__300x399,2

Building A Career

Published by under 6D,LukeG

Tradditionaly men have been working as construction workers and trades.  Recently there has been discussion at a school were there has been talk about girls working as construction workers and trades.  The girls have been constructing in there school grounds.  They have chosen construction as a subject.  Do you think they should be able to work as construction workers or trades.

Girls should have the same opportunities as boys.  Why because ladies have good attention to detail and you need that in construction because if you don’t do it right it will crash and burn. Recently we need more  trades people because the population is going up and we need more buildings, houses and work places.  They also need more trades because not many people are choosing  it any more and think it isn’t interesting.

On the other hand construction sites are dangerous work places. Mainly for girls because they could put other workers at risk.they could also have a baby and the boss might need everyone to work and she’ll have to have time off and the boss will have to pay for her while she is raising the baby.

There are clearly two sides to this issue, in my opinion i don’t think girls should work in construction sites because there not is strong and they could have babies which makes them leave.  Also if your pregnant you could fall over or lose the baby.

Holes Book Review

Published by under 6D,LukeG

The Story Holes all started when a boy called Stanley goes to a juvenile detention centre for a crime that he didn’t commit. The juvenile centre is at a place called Camp Green Lake were they have to dig holes in the scorching heat. He also meets a guy called Zero and they become good friends.

The main characters in this story were Zero, Stanley, Warden, Kate Barlow, Trout Walker and Sam the onion man. My favourite character in the story was Zero because he is very kind and carring  and he is courageous. All the characters are credible because this could be going on right now. Stanley and Zero escape  from the juvenile  centre and they climb a mountain called Big Thumb and they have to live on onions.

Some of the key events in the story are when Stanley was caught with the shoes. I think the key event happened because Stanley and Zerowere ment to meet each other.

I really liked this book because when you got into it you couldn’t stop reading it. My favourite part of the book is the last 5 chapters because they are really exciting and you find out more information about ZeroI didn’t have any least favourite parts of the book, I wouldn’t change anything about this book and i give it a 10/10.

Neil Robinson Snooker Champion

Published by under 6D,LukeG

Neil Robinson recently won the World Snooker Championship in the UK. The match went for longer than 9 footy matches.

Neil Robinson started playing snooker when he was 14 and now he is 28 and has just won the World Snooker Championship.  He flew to Casmbridge in the UK with 500 quids. He didn’t have enough miney to buy the vest that he had to play so he had to borrow someone else’s vest. Now he has come back to Australia $410,000 richer. His mum was there in the crowd watching his son and hoping that he would win while his dad was back in Victoria watching him on the television and hoping.

The snooker table has 22 balls 15  of them are red all the red balls 1 point and the black ball is 15 points, when you sink a red ball you have to sink a coloured ball the coloured balls come back on the table utill the red balls are gone. Then when all the red balls are gone you have to try to sink the coloured balls in order till the black ball is sunk. The person with the most points win .  They play it on a green surface and it isn’t grass.

Snooker started in pubs and bars and it was very hard for children to learn how to play, because there was alcohol, smoking and fighting all the time so it was hard for children.

I hope he continues playing snooker and becomes the number 1seed in the world.

Boy Overboard

Published by under 6D,LukeG

Boy Overboard is about a family that lives in Afghanistan. Their family is Jamal, Bibi, Mum and Dad. They are forced to leave the country because the Government is trying to kill them, because the mum has been doing a secret home schooling school for her kids.

I learned to go to some countries for holidays,  because of some of the places have lots of terrorists attacks around the world and some of the mean governments.  This book helped me to realise what is happening around the world, with the refugees and how they are being treated very badly around the world.

I thought this was very exhilarating because couldn’t stop reading it.  I would recommend this book  to people who haven’t opened their eyes yet about all the refugees being treated badly around the world.

India Sport

Published by under 6D,LukeG

Recently the Australian athletes and cricketers were worried about there safety in India, because the security has not been good there.

The Australian men’s hockey team has just recently toured India, they have had tight security as there has been a number of terrorists attacks .  There was one just a few weeks ago in a crowded bakery. In November 2008  there was an attack at a luxury Hotel in Mumbai killing 175 people including 2 Australians.

There has been a number of terrorists threats to the Australian athletes and cricketers.  India are hoping to hold a successful Commonwealth Games with no bomdings or terrorists attacks.  Indian authorites are doing there best to make athletes safe.

India have promised massive security for the Commonwealth Games some Australian netballers have visited there recently.  They said the athletes village was outstanding even though it isn’t completed it looks great. The training field and games arena are close to being finished.  The Australian netballer’s also commented on that while they were in India they felt safe.

The games are being held in one area unlike the cricket which is all over different areas in India which makes security hard to control, so it is a lot easier to control the security at the Commonwealth Games. Famous cricketers Shaun Tait and Simon Katich are worried about terrorist attacks, Blues Paceman Bert Cockley is almost relieved about missing out on the Australian cricket team so are some of the other cricket players.

In conclusion these security and terrriost issues are very important and should be dealt with very seriously and professionally for the safety of all involved.

Wilsons Prom

Published by under 6D,LukeG

We have just said good bye to our mum’s and we are ready to set of for Wilsons Prom.  It was long drive but we eventually arrived. When we got there we had afternoon tea and set up our tents I was in a tent with Benjamin.  Soon after we had dinner,  it was nice but not as nice as mum’s.  Then we went on a hike on Mt Oberon, it was hell but it was worth it to see the beautiful scenery.

The next morning we had to wake up at 6:00 am  and go for a run on the beach.  Then we all had breakfast and after that we went to Squeaky Beach everyone had fun and we saw dolphins. Then we started our activities. Firstly we went on a bike ride it was fun and we got lots of lollies.  After that we went for a swim in Tidal river  and went canoening. At night we went to Bidies Trail.

Wednesday morning we started our activities early. My favourite activity of the day was surfing.  I had so much fun and I’m sure everyone else did too. That night we had a trivia night and my team came fifth.

Thursday we started the day off with beach flags and games, I came fourth. Then we went for a swim. After the other activities we went boggie boarding, I caught some good waves it was my second favourite activity on the camp. That night there was a big storm and some of the tents got flooded and some people had to sleep on the bus.

Friday we packed up all of our stuff and went home on the bus. We stopped for lunch at a park and then continued on our journey back to school where our mum’s were there waiting ready to take us home.
