Below are some pictures of our trip to The Briars for Environment Week. The students played games in this beautiful outdoor environment, learning about negative and positive influences human beings can have on the natural environment. They were guided on a walk by members of SPIFFA (Southern Peninsula Indigenous Flora and Fauna Association.) They learned about food sources and medicines in the Australian bush, and found a great many critters native to the region. Finally, an aboriginal elder showed the children artefacts to teach them about how the indigenous people took care of the natural environment so that it always provided for them.
