Is Fame Worth It? :)

Is a kids dream about being famous all its fed up to be?, should they risk all their privacy just for the 15 minutes of fame?

Firstly everybody needs allot of privacy once and a while but being famous means the paparazzi becomes to get in your privacy, which doesn’t just mean the loss of  yours but you friends and family. You have to watch what you say and do because the paparazzi can change things very easily and  make it into worst things.

Secondly there is pressure to be a great role model, celebrities have to watch everything they do, especially the way they eat. The paparazzi can turn it into a much situation such as ”letting yourself go” when its really just a quick bite to eat.

Lastly Happiness is a thing everyone needs to feel a bit better, celebrities cope with allot of pressure from singing, movies and just the public eye. Allot of this leads to alcoholism, drug addictions and overdoses. Which can lead to death. Amy Winehouse it a prime example, she turned down the horrible path of drugs and alcohol and then the sad news came that she passed away, which made her fans and family very sad, they all flocked to her apartment and now she is another one of the 27 year old celebrities who have died like that.

There for I think it is important not to get sucked in with all the fame and fortune just for the 15 minutes of fame.

Holes review by Ella :)

Holes is an excellent story with an exciting twist set in Texas. The two main characters are Stanley Yelnats who was an overweight bullied Kid and Zero a small, young homeless boy with a heart of gold. After years of being stuck at that nasty Camp Green Lake Zero finally had enough amd had a dramatic escape leaving his water canteen behind. Stanley was worried so much about Zero, he went out to look for him.

The Feisty Red head Warden is a mean and selfish women who only cares about finding the “treasure” , Mr. Sir who crunches on sun flower seeds to stop him from smoking and Mr. Pendenski who is the counsellor at the Camp he seems nice but is more mean then you expect. Stanley and Zero are in group D which had X-Ray the leader of the group, Armpit, Squid, Magnet, Twitch. You learn more about Zero in rest of the story including that his real name is Hector Zeroni. When reading this story you will find so many connections throughout the story.

Adventures are very common in this book from the beginning to the end they are so exciting with Zero and Stanley and Kate Barlow and Sam the onion man. I loved this book so much and would recommend this to everyone who loves thriller books and twists. Everyone is an individual in this book so i don’t have many connection.

Market Day 2011 :)

On the 31st of May all the year 6’s held a market day which included food, craft and arts and more.
We all learnt a lot  including the success and problems of running your business and its definitely hard to get all the people who are walking by to get there attention and make them buy your products.
Issy and I’s market was called Prendiams we sold cupcakes and anklets we sold all of our cupcakes that was definitely our success of the day.
I think we would probably make better anklets and different colour dye for  the cupcakes. But its was very fun and wouldn’t change much things.
I enjoyed the experience very much and would do it again! thanks to all the teachers as well ;)

Wilsons Promontory

We arrived at school early Monday the 14th of February excited to be heading to wilsons prom, with about 100 students with bags, the teachers were running around getting things sorted out. We were counted and headed on the bus. After a hour and a half  of driving we arrived at Leongatha for recces and fresh air. We got got back on the bus and drove to wilsons prom.

We finally arrived to Wilsons Prom and did a walk called Lilly Pilly Overlook. After lunch we went to the campsite. The tents were a dull brown colour not very exciting at all, i thought the tents were going to be much smaller, but they were quite big. Lucy and I watched the tent demonstartation carefully and then finally we put it up! For dinner we had spaghetti and jelly. After we were getting ready to climb Mt Oberon! It was tough and challenging but then we made it, it was definetly worth it the views were amazing.

The following day we had our fisrt ratation activities. We started off with surfing… Im really bad at surfing, but i did stand up a few times. Bones (one of our instructiors) taught me how to stand up. The second activity was the bike ride and shops. I bought a drink and some lollies. When i chose my bike and waited for Mrs. North to finish her ice-cream we set off riding away. Ther was a massive hill! but still it was fun. Following that we came back and had dinner. Afterwards we got to choose either stelth or Biddies Walk, i chose stelth, it was so much fun!

On Wednesday we had our second lot of activities which included abseiling and canoeing. Half of our group went abseiling first and the other half went canoeing, i was in the second group so i went canoeing first. I was partners with Issy… We were really bad! we drifted off and the teacher had to tell us about 50 times what to do! And then we swopped over with the other group, it was a long and steep walk up hill, and when we finally got ther we were really high up! Chloe was the first one up she made it look really easy! when it was my turn i got strapped into the harness and was good to go! but then i started freaking out!but i got over my fear and did it! when we got back to the camp site we had a trivia night!and went to bed.

We woke up ready to do our electives!  My electives were Plaster cast and Rock Rambling it was soo much fun because i did it with all my friends :) After dinner we went down to the beach and did red faces

On Friday we all packed up everything and got on the bus and headed home :)
