jamesv is fame worth it

Is fame worth it? Every child’s dream is to become famous but do they really know what it’s like.

First of all being famous includes sacrifices such as loss of privacy, a few of these examples are the paparazzi. Watching every move they make they can’t even walk down the street without the paparazzi harassing them, and the media as well talking about them behind their back and making up stories about them sometimes.

Secondly being famous puts alot pressure on you to have good appearance, to be a good role model and to receive great comments. but sometimes it can appear to be to much for them and that’s when they turn to drugs and alcohol which gets bad attention and sometimes isolates them from their families. For example Amy Winehouse the pressure got to much for her so she turned to drugs and it ended up killing her and and was very hard for her family and friends.

Lastly does being famous make you happy? Behind all the money attention and glamour is that person actually happy. They may look they are but all the pressure and loss of privacy all adds up to not being very happy.

In conclusion behind the smiles, the red carpet and all the money and glamour most of the rich and famous aren’t really that happy.

Holes review

Holes is a story originated in Camp Green Lake Texas.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Holes is a story with a lot of personalities  such as the uptight, cruel Warden, or as nice and caring as Stanley.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 But the special thing about Holes is that it jumps from past to present which makes it quiet interesting.

In Camp Green Lake (which isn’t green anymore)  all boys up to the age of seventeen have a choice of going to Camp Green Lake or a Juvenile Detention Centre,                                              whether they are fat, skinny, tall or short they have to dig one hole a day five feet by five feet. And you have to get up at four o’clock  in the morning and start digging or else you’ll get caught in the hottest part of the day…………… And don’t forget they are in Texas.                                                                             holes

jamesv Wilsons prom recount

Monday was the first day of the camp to Wilsons prom. After a one and a half  hour bus drive we arrived at Leongatha for some fresh air and a snack. Another one and a half  hours later we arrived at the promalot of it was burnt in the black Saturday bush fires. After that we walked from Lily Pilly car park to one of the many play grounds in the prom and had lunch. After we had lunch we walked to our campsite via Tidal river, where our bus driver Bruce did a demo of how to put our tents up. I put up my tent luckily with success. After we had dinner we prepared for 3.4 kilometre climb to the summit of  Mount Oberon. Being one the first to the to the top was an amazingly unbelievable sight being one of the first to the top meant it was also quiet as well, but not for long. We climbed back down to the bottom, went back to the campsite for some sleep.

We woke up early on Tuesday morning and went for a jog along the beach, after the run we had breakfast, then we got ready for our rotations 6D had surfing first. When we had walked down to where the surfing instructors were one of our surf instructors explained the rules and the basic moves then we hit the water I stood up four times. When our time was up for surfing we left the water got dry then had lunch it was delicious. Then after our great lunch of  hamburgers we moved on to our next activity the bike ride/ shops 6D got split in half so one group did bike riding first while the other half spent their money at the shop the bike ride was fun. After the shops/ bike ride we played a bit of cricket and footy before dinner after dinner we did stealth  I got stealth once we played four games.

On Wednesday morning we went to the beach and did some activities after that we came back and had breakfast. After breakfast we split in half again and one group went abseiling and the other went canoing my group went abseiling first, apart from climbing to the top of Mount Oberon I think abseiling was pretty good but I didn’t like the canoeing. Then we went back and had lunch,  we went boogie boarding it was really good. After boogie boarding we had dinner then we had trivia night.

On Thursday we woke up and went straight to breakfast after that we went for a walk around Little Oberon Bay then we came back and had morning tea then stated our rotations I did orienteering first then river cricket that was pretty cool even though I didn’t get a bat I still got to swim. Then we came back and had dinner. After dinner we went downto the beach and had the flags championship the last two left were Claudia.W and Tom.S, Claudia won by a little bit after the flags we did red faces.

Friday was the last day of the Wilsons Prom camp, we woke up nice and early. again,  we had breakfast then we packed our bags  then Lachie showed us how to pull down our tents after a few tries we finally got it. then we went for a walk to the park and played on the equipment for a while the n the buses picked us up. We stopped at Leongatha for lunch then all the way back to school.

Wilsons Promontory was the best camp I’ve ever been to.
