IS FAME WORTH IT?

every child’s dream is to become famous, but could it turn into a nightmare?

sure being famous can be good with all the money and fame but it’s not what it’s cut- out to be, and here are some reasons why.

firstly the pressure of being a celebrity is horendous. people screaming your name everywhere. secondly being famous gives you nearly no privacy at all, and paparazzi is mostly the cause of this epidemic. for example, one celebrity got photographed in the toilet and it was all over the internet.lastly happiness, happiness is different to everyone, but there is a new sort that should not be classed as happiness. drugs, they are extremely dangerous if over taken. a lot of celebrities take them now and it is the cause of a lot of deaths.

in conclusion fame is not what it’s carcked up to be so if your wanting to be famous, just have second thoughts about it.

kurt’s holes review

Holes is an amazing book, it’s full of conflict, adventure, friendship and it has two different time zones, how amazing is THAT!!!! I would so recommend it to everyone and the best thing is, its set in Texas!! Holes has clashed together lots of characters from the past and present. All characters including Stanley, zero. the Warden, Mr Sir and much more all have a big part in the story. Holes has got an interesting metaphor of combining the past and present.

Here’s a quick sneak peak of the book……

Stanley Yelnats isn’t too surprised to find himself at camp Green Lake, digging holes in the dried-up lake bed, day after scorching day. after all, his family has a history of bad luck. The boys at Camp Green Lake must dig one hole each day, five feet deep and five feet across. But what are they digging for? Why did Green Lake dry up? And what do onions and lizards have to do with it all? the answers lie in Stanley’s own past..

Now this is a quick review of what we’ve read…

Holes is a funny, surprising and deliciously suspenseful novel, weaving past and present into a plot that tangles and untangles to a thrilling end.

Wilsons Prom 2011

Monday was the first day of camp. We left TPS at around 9:ooam, the trip was loooooooooonnnnnnggggggg.Halfway through we stopped at Leongatha for morning tea and then went on a thrilling playground.

We arrived at Wilsons Prom, the weather was average and there was a slight chill in the air. I went on the mini bus which went straight to the camp site. Everyone on it helped out on placing the tents in a strict order. Then the rest of year 6 came, and then suddenly I knew what was going to happen………

IT WAS TIME TO PUT UP THE TENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Later that same day we had a meeting about rules and regulations. Then we head back to our tents to get to know our fellow teammates. The people in my tent were Andrew harrison and Cooper Seers, but  I already knew them from previous years so that was a bit weird. At around 5:00 – 6:00pm we had dinner. For starters we had chicken soup, but to me it realy tasted like chicken noodles with the water still in it. For main it was spaghetti and for dessert it was jelly. Ten minutes after dinner year 6 headed up to Mt Oberon, it was a 6km walk from up and back down again but the view was worth it. We got back to the tent site at around 10:00pm to go straight to bed.

The very next day I woke up by a bang on the tent, it was one of the camp helpers telling us to get up to do fitness. It was 6:00am in the morning and most of us only got a few hours sleep. We headed down to norman bay for excersising, then we went down for some breakfast. for starter we had cereal( obviously!), and then for main we had hashbrowns. They weren’t the best I have had but they were allright. Then we were sent back to our tents to get ready for our first activities, my ones were…….. surfing and bike ride/shop. Surfing was good but I never got to stand up on the boared which was sad. Next was bike ride/shop, i got the rubbish bike because the chain on it kept coming off. At the shop I got two cards fo my parents. Then the day was heading to an end so before dinner we went down to Tidal River, I played beach cricket and it was good. It was dinner time…. For starter it was tomato soup, for the main meal it was chicken and vegetables, for dessert we had  apple crumble. Then after dinner we split up into two groups one went on a spooky walk and the other played a game called stealth. I enjoyed so much I wanted to play it all night.

It was Wednesday morning, we had fitness before breaky again, we did it for an hour and then went back to eat. this was the day that we did the last activities. First was canoeing/ absailing, my favourite was absailing, it was extremely good. For our last activity we had terrific boogieboareding I even got to stand up( ON A BOOGIEBOARED!!!!!!!!!!). At night we had our trivia night and my team came last.

Thursday morning we got to have one extra hour of sleep. that day we had lifesaving activities. at night we had Red Faces which was O.K.

the next day was the last day of the whole camp. we got ready, had a bit of a play at the playground then left.

never to be seen again………………………………………………..
